Reject the premise. There’s nothing shameful about Bitcoin and there’s no need to “justify” your support of Bitcoin “despite” its environmental trade offs. Make the asker justify their usage of planes for transportation.

If I get access to dump mercury in a lake in by "bribing" local officials, its ok to destroy the lake. Since I "paid" for it, it is "none of their business"? Grow a moral spine before u can convince the world to adopt your toys.

This. If only people didn't have jobs, they wouldn't have money to buy electricity to use on things we don't like. We should not accept the premise that Bitcoin has ANY environmental impact. Problem seems to be energy too cheap relative to enviro. cost or money too easy to earn.
