I donโ€™t know if I can adequately explain to people who arenโ€™t similarly marginalized how it feels to constantly have your rights and lives treated as a bargaining chip to be discarded or picked up for tactical reasons

By the way, the reason Labour added LGBT rights to its official platform in the 80s was because LGBT activists, in an act of conscious solidarity against Thatcher, raised tons of money for striking coal miners and those miners in return held out for their inclusion

Makes sense, impression I get is that PLP were essentially forced into it by the solidarity movement outside of the party whilst taking (some) credit when convenient
