Today I got #fedora running on my @thepine64 #pinephone. (Lots of help from mozzwald on Discord, using megi's 5.6 kernel.)

Desktop @gnome on a phone is pretty wild! How much RAM does it take? And have you tried #phosh?

While sitting on the GNOME desktop, `top` reports... `53.9MB free, 902.3MB used, 975.6MB buff/cache`. A lot of it isn't GNOME, just various Fedora services that I haven't turned off yet. Phosh compiles but crashes, working on fixing that today :)

@gnome looks surprising good on a small form factor! I would be interested in learning if there are any plans for @gnome mobile and if @Puri_sm's Phosh will fold in.

phosh *is* an implementation of GNOME's mobile designs, and it eventually should get merged back into a single shell (either current GNOME Shell, phosh or something new that will replace them both)

Can I do this to a HTC, or Samsung or similar android devices? And also can we do phone calls on them?

Very, very old HTCs and Samsungs used to be able to run a full Debian stack with lxde or i3 (I've done so on a Galaxy S2) but there's no chance with modern devices, only the FOSS phones and perhaps open(er) Androids in the future but I wouldn't hold my breath. Calls are incoming
