13 years ago, I was dropped into a trip to Miami after my boss had a last minute emergency and couldn't go. I was there to go to something called IA Summit ("ugh, sounds boring, but free trip to FL, amirite?"). That was the week that I learned about UX.

Startups are wildly complicated to build yet incredibly fragile every step of the way.

One of the things that slows startups down so much is the reluctance to "rewrite code". Code is MEANT to be rewritten, and rewriting it is a sign of learning and evolution. If you're not constantly refactoring things you've built, you're probably not doing your job.

And if this seems scary to you, and all you can think about is "the cost of rewriting code", you either have the wrong team, or the wrong perspective, when it comes to building early stage products.

This is also why outsourcing startup products to agencies usually doesn't work. Changes there cost real money, which scares founders and investors. That fear means slower iteration, which ultimately usually means premature death.

I'll say it one more time, in case I wasn't clear: iterating on your product is your only shot at finding product/market fit, and iterating necessarily means burning things down and rebuilding parts. If you're scared to do that, get out of the startup game.

Your job as a founder isn't to convince people (investors, users, etc.) that you're right. Your job, hard as it is, is to *prove* it.

Don’t worry about people ‘stealing’ your ideas. If they can do it better than you, the market probably needs you to work on something else anyways.

What a shitty subject line. Actually, my response is *totally* optional, thanks, and you've got a 0% chance of getting one from me now.

I'm 1000% about clear, sensible variable names, so that other can understand your code more easily. However, think imma keep this one for a little longer.

Y'all need to learn the difference between regular nouns, proper nouns and abbreviations. If I build something that runs on my phone, that's an "app", not an "App", nor an "APP". Looks sloppy af.

Having empathy is one of those things that creates immense value on both sides, and yet, doesn't cost either side anything. Be more empathetic - you lose nothing, and gain everything.

So, wouldn't that just be a limit of three people?
