On a good day, I make the web more awesome. On a bad day, I just make it suck less. Work projects: @autogram_is. Personal projects: @tcarmody.

Searching for "RDF" in Slackmoji brings up 🤓 (ne[rd-f]ace), which makes perfect sense, but for a moment I thought someone had crafted a really good burn.

👀 Working on a new thing with @HTTPArchive data. Checking 8M websites 12 months apart for any that switched tech stacks and visualizing where they're going to/from. React ate every other JS framework's lunch on over 32k sites. Mostly from Handlebars. (thread)

Ok Design Twitter, here’s a question to stir you up. (Disclosure: this is for a school project.) What would you say are the important *events* (things that happened, not in the “conference” sense) in the domain of design in the past decade? I’ll start up a kettle of popcorn.

This thread is depressing and funny at the same time
Also... with Supreme Court audio open to all now, hasn't it really been obvious to people listening in good faith that Kagan, Sotomayor, AND BARRETT consistently ask *the best* questions while the dudes just make speeches or engage in hypothetical pontification.

One of the things I explicitly advise students to avoid in their job applications is “feeling words” like passionate, excited, etc. Employers actually don’t care how you feel about your job, they want to know what you can do (and how much they can exploit you)
New by me —> Are you ~~passionate~~ about journalism? Hiring editors sure want you to be. In the past 2 weeks, 155 of the 293 new jobs posted on JournalismJobs.com have included the word "passion" or "passionate" somewhere in the ad copy. niemanlab.org/2022/01/are-yo…

I've done a Zoom Yoga class for 18 months. Sometimes the teacher tells the group, "Adam is doing really good work." I nod proudly. When talking about the health benefits of poses, he says "Adam knows!" I give a thumbs up. Anyway he thought I was an ambulance driver the whole time

Great thread where Dan tells you why you should hire him! He’s very smart, I would hire him if I didn’t do more or less the same thing for a living

I do "strategy" work at for executive leaders. Lately, I've been working with less-digitally-native organizations (like bureaucracies) as well as some startups. You can get in touch by DMing, or taking a look at verylittlegravitas.com
