Inside you are two wolves. One has Generalized Anxiety Disorder and the other has Adult ADHD. The one who wins is oh wait I’m just receiving word that they’re teaming up. They’re a team now. So that’s happening.

The thing is, therapy will not be more accessible via shaming therapists to charge less. If I am not compensated at a level that is appropriate to the service, the service will not be offered. I will leave the field before I sacrifice my health. I'm a therapist, not a martyr.

getting therapy is one of the greatest acts of self-love. it says, “hey, i wanna change but i don’t know how.” it says, “self, i want you at your best and i’m willing to invest in that.”

Therapists are underpaid because, historically, it was primarily the role of women to take care of vulnerable, unwell folks *FOR FREE* but idk if you all are ready for that covo.
Therapists shouldn't have to take a vow of poverty.

burning out your nervous system is uncompassionate towards yourself and ultimately also unproductive if you want to be of service.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, shame is the thing holding most people back. Fear of judgement and fear about how you’ll be perceived really stops us from soaring.

a friend of mine once told me that God felt like a thoughtful partner to her; surprising her with flowers and hidden notes for only her to find. I think about that a lot.

If your therapist has books by people like Chinua Achebe and Rumi on their bookshelf rather than academic books on psychopathology, you’re probably moving in the right direction.

I need people to stop talking about the earth like it's ending. We need to imagine futures and work towards them, imagine a better place for our young people. My kokum has always said everything she's done, she did it for the youth. Now we have to carry that on.
