I got a promotional email from Peloton and I think they encoded a whole workout video in this URL:

When I first saw pre-commit.com I had a kind of cranky "why not do it the old fashioned way" moment, but it's really been a win in the (green-field) repo where we're using it. I'm loving that we have a hook enforcing Black formatting.

My registrar is having a $3 sale on .me domains, but somebody already got "beer.me" so there's really no point.

Why does this exist? Other than, say, migration tooling for a Bazaar-to-Git transition, I don't see a use case. Anybody? breezy-vcs.org/

As a #voip newbie I got a kick out of this. Plugged a cat 5 cable into the desk phone that work sent me, provisioned it for a number I'd picked... and bam, a working phone! Voice attendant and all. Times have changed, glad to be catching up. Hat tip phone.com

My "magnum opus" for better SyntaxErrors is finished in time to be included in Python 3.10. Now when the interpreter shows SyntaxErrors it will try to highlight the full syntactic construct that is incorrect. This was quite tricky to do but I'm glad we managed to do it in time 😅

Now that I work at phone.com I get a free account with all the bells and whistles. Makes me wish I knew somebody with a fax machine so I could prank them, I mean test the fax functionality.

Had my exit interview at MassChallenge today. Great org with passionate people, but it's time for my next phase as an engineer. Starting as Senior Engineer at phone.com in one week!

Are there any batteries included web frameworks with the scope of things like Rails, Phoenix, Django written in a language with null safety?

I've rolled over on people using "hacker" to refer only to criminals, but I'll still resist using "Wiki" as a synonym for wikipedia, and I'll resist "crypto" as synonym for cryptocurrency. (The fact that I am fighting a usage battle means I will ultimately lose of course.)

It's a sad irony that the DVCS that I think has the best UX, uses a bug tracker that has one of the worst. At least I succeeded in creating the ticket. bz.mercurial-scm.org/show_bu…

Day 13 of #100binaries fd by @sharkdp86 is an alternative to `find` with sensible defaults. It rapidly lists files and directories with names matching a regex, whilst respecting .gitignore files. github.com/sharkdp/fd
