Unfortunately, too many think they can stay safe while breaking the rules. If you go on or in the water, safety should be the #1 priority. Water is wonderful but deadly too.

Do you know by chance if the submersible was equipped with any kind of independent emergency signalling device like EPIRB or ultrasonic underwater locator pinger? Cannot get hold of this information anywhere.

I imagine the poor fellow is sat there now at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in a failed tin can thinking about his family and wishing he had slept in on the morning of the launch!! How sad and tragic 😞 Sadly the sea is unforgiving in nature…alas🙏let’s hope for a miracle

Titanic itself didn’t have enough lifeboats, safety didn’t seem to be a paramount concern then. Very sad.

This is probably a stupid question, but does the company operating the vessel have insurance for the loss of the crew and passengers. If they do who was the insurer who thought this vessel was safe? I can see a lot of court battles and investigations to come.
