I am but a humble shitposter, but it is entirely insane to me that the admin is trial ballooning new lockdowns before trial ballooning vaccine mandates

But vaccine mandates will be unpopular, yah, OK, I hear you, but have you seen how unpopular lockdowns are

This is interesting & I wish we had more detail here: per Le Monde, French authorities were able to tie several targets to “NSO’s Moroccan client” by examining Apple accounts used as part of that client’s “attack infrastructure.”

This pandemic has gone on for far too long now and I am going to write a really long letter to the coronavirus telling it that this is really just not on

Congrats to all the dipshits who ruined Summer for everyone for the sake of their God-Given Constitutional right to lick lampposts as a defense against the government injecting moon landing pictures into people's arms or whatever fucking bullshit nonsense they've got up to by now

OK this is interesting, not so much that DOJ is giving permission to them to testify, but is waiving all executive privilege including privilege relating to presidential communication for those officials
DOJ letter: Former Trump admin officials can testify about Jan 6 bc it's “an exceptional situation in which the congressional need for information outweighs the Executive Branch’s interest in maintaining confidentiality.” Story w/ @AndrewDesiderio politico.com/news/2021/07/27…

Ok lol yes, the letter is blunter: basically "there are still EB privileges we continue to assert, and that you should decline to discuss (e.g. out-of-scope issues or ongoing prosecutions etc), but not this, which is entirely waived and unassertable". justsecurity.org/wp-content/…

The point, of course, is not to find evidence of fraud. It's to collect donations, and to maybe have some more files you can convert to hexadecimal, scroll quickly behind you in a video, and use it to trick gullible pensioners into buying some more of your overpriced pillows.

Folks don't like to call it corruption because it's not directly illegal, but using the powers of elected office to do doomed things entirely unconnected with reality for the sole purpose of collecting partisan donations is no less corrupt than taking dufflebags of cash for votes
