I am but a humble shitposter, but it is entirely insane to me that the admin is trial ballooning new lockdowns before trial ballooning vaccine mandates

Vaccines take several weeks to be effective.

And it's a month between doses, so at least 6 weeks to be fully vaxxed.

The worry is vaccines don’t even stop people from catching and passing on delta, and kids (so far) and immunocompromised (maybe) don’t have option of using vaccines to limit severity.

the vaccines were developed with a pass/ fail make of preventing serious disease and hospitalization. Need other vaccines if they are going to prevent transmission.

When have they floated lockdowns? They’re taking steps to heavily incentivize vaccines, but yeah they should just mandate them.

The people themselves will create the next lockdown. No government mandate needed. If people feel unsafe or unsure, they’re going to do their utmost to stay at home, negatively impacting the economy again. We need common sense & rational, critical thinking to carry us through.

on the other hand you do see regional and corporate vax mandates (or "vax or test" mandates) showing up concurrently
