A week and a bit since I got sick with COVID, happy to get back to playful movement and fun research.

I’d love to see @amnesty and @OCCRP feature work by journalists who were targeted by NSO’s clients.

Because yesterday’s PCR showed positive (still), here’s the audiobook I’m currently enjoying. ❤️🎧 audible.com/pd?asin=00629564…

In “On All Fronts,” @clarissaward talks about creating a security plan before going on a high-risk trip and waiting for editors to approve it. Do newsrooms require digital security to be part of such a plan? 🧐📔

Designing usable security solutions for journalists requires understanding how they work. There are some very, very good nuggets of information in @clarissaward’s “On All Fronts.”

If you test positive for COVID and receive a call from the NYC Test & Trace Corps, make sure you ask about exposure notifications in the COVID Alert NY app. Here’s what that looks like.

I didn't know Schrödinger hosted parties.

Because today’s PCR test still shows positive and I’m all out of chocolate, here’s a photo of Pumpkin. 🎃🐈

Decided to invest in @CueHealth to make testing-while-traveling easier and, in some cases, cheaper. I want to stay healthy and safe. I also want to adventure and explore and share amazing experiences this year. ✨

PCR from Tuesday was negative, the one from Friday was positive. That’s two days before a rapid test showed positive. Also got this message from the city, good to see they’re on it.

Tried to figure out how exposure notifications work. The COVID Alert NY app still says (1) to isolate for 14 days, (2) that a public health representative will call me, (3) that they’ll give me an 8-digit number to share my “close contact codes” in the app. Seems a bit outdated?

An update on the testing timeline: the PCR test I took on Thursday morning, when I first started coughing, was negative. The PCR test on Friday was positive. The rapid on Sunday was positive.

I guess this explains why I never got a call from the city.
NY is basically ending its active contact tracing program. "The big change for New Yorkers is if you test positive, you should no longer expect a call from your local health department," Acting Health Commissioner Mary Bassett says.

Can't believe this needs to be said, but: not everyone will have mild symptoms or recover quickly from COVID-19. Getting sick is not cool or fun or inevitable. Stay at home if you don't feel well, even if the rapid is negative.

Here’s the org chart for the KGB rezidentura in Oslo (1990 - 1991), from the book “KGB i Norge” by Mikhail Butkov.

In 2000, @NRKno aired an interview with ex-KGB spy Mikhail Butkov about his work, his time in Oslo, and his decision to help both the Norwegian security service and MI5. Would love to see it available on YouTube with English subtitles. tv.nrk.no/serie/brennpunkt/2…

Here's a list of domains used by The Spine Collector between 2017 and 2021. If you pivot on these, you'll quickly find other, similar names linked to the same infrastructure. Happy hunting! gist.github.com/runasand/1bb…
