So excited about @monarch_money! Fantastic product from a great team. They're solving real problems for personal finance -- a market opportunity unexploited for over a decade since Mint's debut. There's lots to love about Monarch and can't wait to see where the team takes it!
Monarch is now LIVE on @producthunt. You can manage your entire financial life in one place, create a financial plan, and then easily follow that plan to achieve your financial goals

Is it possible for iPhones/iPads to report the wattage they're receiving from a charging brick + cable combination? macOS reports this in the System Information app. Anything similar for iOS? It's doubly important b/c there's vastly more charger<>cable combos out there
Anyone else want their M1 MacBook to have a feature where you can manually raise the system temperature if you want some lap warmth? Reminds me of how electric cars are mandated to make some amount of noise for safety purposes.
Using @mimestream Gmail app 📩 by @neil_jhaveri recently and loving it. Crazy how using the Gmail API within a native #SwiftUI macOS app makes working with email *faster* than using Gmail's own web interface! And much less resource intensive. Cant wait for Mimestream's future!
For my latest feature story, I explored the growing world of virtual HQs, online spaces where employees can "bump into" each other, pass glowing Google Docs, and, hopefully, avoid some Zoom fatigue.
Product that needs to be revolutionized:
PLASTIC BREAD CLIPS 🍞👩🔬
There's millions of bread bags across the world that are opened and closed every day, and for each of those bags, there's a really frustrated human out there, wondering why no one's given this some more thought.
Sad day today Big Basin Redwoods State Park its totally engulfed in fire, California's oldest state park and home of some of the few redwood forests left in the state after climate change and logging reduced their numbers. I can't believe all of this is burning down right now
NEW: Amidst this pandemic, UCLA is launching a research study that leverages Apple devices to better understand depression. It looks at heart rate, sleep & daily routines.
“This shows that digital mental health research is accelerating" (@JohnTorousMD)
On platforms that prime us to behave mimetically (via likes, retweets, etc) the “in-group contrarian” (IGC) plays a specific role. By dissenting from the in-group consensus, IGCs block the consummation of the “collective effervescence” our mimetic snowballing seems to promise./1
Social media liberated information, but it also made instantaneous, global mass hysteria possible for the first time in history. If we don't find some defense against the dynamic, I think the threat is existential. Thoughts here: bit.ly/2AezH5n
It's easy for links/articles to go viral on Twitter. This can be powerful but sometimes dangerous, especially if people haven't read the content they're spreading. This feature (on Android for now) encourages people to read a linked article prior to Retweeting it.
The writing kick continues! I externalized all the thoughts in my brain, which were fit to publish, about what I think are the habits of high-performing software teams. It's tricky if you don't know what "good" looks like. Hope this helps 💙
