Is there a broader term you like for folks who inform the public, that includes but not just limited to journalists, librarians, researchers, many NGOs, etc?

Racial reckoning without meaningful wealth transference? Under capitalism? Y’all playing.
Check out the Philanthropic Initiative for Racial Equity’s new report, #Mismatched, which identifies $3.4 billion in actual funding for racial equity work in 2020-that is less than 2% of some prior estimates. Read the report here: racialequity.org/mismatched/ #RacialJusticeFunding

This is something I've been thinking about all week. What degree of warming are we building for? And what are we doing to flatten the curve? It's more than reporting on climate or preventing it. We're already in it. So what's the work? nytimes.com/2021/09/17/clima…

Each year, thousands of people run for local political offices across the United States. Many of them create websites and social media sites to reach potential voters. But after each election cycle, thousands of these websites disappear from the web. savingpoliticalsites.org/

This. Most people can do most things with the right level of support. Whether there's capacity/resources for providing that level of support is a different question than what are they capable of.
One of the considerations I make when I hire someone: how much support does this person need to be successful in this role, and can this space and this team (as it exist today) provide them with the necessary tools to be successful.

A probably incomplete thought: newsrooms should prioritize, value and reward the staffers who manage internal documentation about how systems work, coverage is shaped and simply how shit gets done.

I've been thinking a lot about the last half of this takeaway - "a complex system that tends to push back." This is the heart of the matter, isn't it? Power wants to stay in power.
