The key to optimizing data team headcount is to hold data providers accountable to delivering accurate and timely data with as few ‘quirks’ as possible. It’s harder than it sounds.
I’m becoming increasingly convinced that the key to unlocking increased “power” for data teams is determining how to quantify the impact of bad decisions

There has got to be a term for this especially with data and analytics folks. It often doesn’t look great in Agile-esque cultures, but leads to much better outcomes.
Idk if it’s just me but the older I get the more “bursty” my coding gets. I’ll spend several days staring at existing code, making notes, and reverting a few false starts. Then finally banging out 200 lines in like 2 hours.

Has anyone found a use for the 20 minutes between one zoom call ending and the next starting? Switching cost is too high to go back to analysis, so push-ups? Twitter? Daydreaming?

Observations from day 1 back in office: 1) I like my coworkers more after spending the day with them. 2) Were open plan offices always this noisy? 3) Commuting is still an epic waste of time 4) Everyone is still confused in one way or another about masks 5) Sidewalks less crowded

Somehow asking a question about multitouch attribution last month at work has resulted in me being the owner for all things multitouch this month. Happy to do it, but 🤣

With the excitement over the "Friends" reunion, I wanted to share this video, "The Windows 95 Video Guide" which was released with Windows 95 in August 1995. It aged just about as well as Friends. 1/ Windows 95 Video Guide (1995) piped.kavin.rocks/oXPxaRJs7g0

Brilliant!
Useful clickstream data hack: include git commit hash as an attribute. It helps in so many ways, like knowing which release is broken, proving to engineers their code is broken, showing a chart to engineers while saying "I know, the code looks like it works, but..."

I’ve been a little light on Twitter usage for a few weeks, but what is going on with Twitter ad targeting?Within 2 minutes I got ads for: ‘timeshare exit plan’, subscription box of knives, motorcycle insurance, and something about selling my blood. 😳

Humorous it is so off base (you gotta know me), but it is worth mentioning the ad load seems really high (this wasn’t even all the ads I received).

I apparently started using Twitter 14 years ago. I’m still finding value learning from others here. Thanks everyone!
